Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th on the 26th of March, 1991. She's an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October 21st, 2016 she debuted Pho, her debut EP under the Dreamville Records label. It was at this point that she began to gain recognition. The album that she released as her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded songs online in the year 2012. She released her debut album Ariography as well as her debut mixtape in 2013 with Five Finger Discount. She continued to upload her tracks online through 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. In July of 2015, Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes with the track Sweat it Out. J. Cole had her send her songs in the direction of his Dreamville Team later in the year because he was hoping for Rihanna to work alongside her on some of the songs. On December 8 that she was signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat is a track that she recorded together with Cozz for the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. She released Pho, her debut album on October 21 in 2016. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was joined by EarthGang. The year 2018 saw Ari Lennox performed on two tracks by EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018 she released her debut single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video to accompany it was released on September 5th. Then on November 9 the singer released two new singles, forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. She then released on the 13th of November, two brand new singles titled No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, February 26, 2019, to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared with Cole as part of the Creed II sound track on November 16. The 20th of February, 2019, a music video was made available for the track. It has already received more than 3 million views on YouTube within its debut week. In December of 2018 she performed on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
